Over the course of a weekend we will focus almost entirely on building a deeply felt, embodied experience of secure attachment using the Ideal Parent Figure (IPF) Protocol. You’ll leave not only with more information, but with your body knowing what it’s like to experience safety, attunement, emotional regulation, delight, and support for your growth.
Hosted live, online, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. Wherever in the world you are you’ll be able to join in real time or catch everything on replay.
After this weekend you’ll leave with:
✔️ A felt, body-level sense of secure attachment that goes beyond just intellectual understanding
✔️ A clearer internal reference point for the five conditions of secure attachment: safety, attunement, emotional regulation, delight, and support for your growth
✔️ Recordings, guided meditations, and feedback from an individual check-in with me to keep you on the right track after the retreat ends
Why spend a whole weekend on IPF?
Regular IPF work goes deep, but usually in sessions squeezed between everything else. A whole weekend gives the practice room to build: each sessions compounds on the last instead of resetting from scratch.
Over these three days we’ll work systematically with the Ideal Parent Figure Protocol and each of the five conditions of secure attachment. This gives us the chance to see what happens when the practices build on one another. Between our sessions you’ll be encouraged to practice on your own, using guided meditations I’ll provide, and come back to share what you’re actually experiencing.
The point is to spend a weekend going into the practice, coming to understand it in a way that may not be possible when trying to fit it around the rest of your life.
Three days. One practice. Five conditions.
This retreat doesn’t jump between modalities or try to cover everything. For three days we will go deep into the Ideal Parent Figure Protocol and the five conditions at the heart of secure attachment.
Safety — the felt sense that you’re protected and out of harm’s way.
Attunement — the experience of being seen and understood as you are.
Emotional regulation — the confidence that comes from knowing your relationships can soothe and settle you.
Delight — being loved and cherished simply for existing, without having to earn it or worry you’ll lose it.
Support for your growth — encouragement and engagement as you grow and become more fully yourself.
We’ll spend dedicated time on each one so that it has a real chance to land.
As we come to the end of the retreat on Sunday we’ll look toward what comes after attachment repair: guided practices built to help you develop your strongest, most genuine sense of self and express it while feeling capable and liking who you are, even in difficult circumstances.
The work is built around the Ideal Parent Figure protocol — a clinically researched method for building earned attachment security, developed by Dr. Daniel P. Brown and colleagues at Harvard University. Everything will be recorded and available to you for a full year.
Here’s what’s included:
Everything you need for a weekend of focus and depth.
Psychoeducation: You’ll learn what secure attachment is, how your early conditioning shaped patterns that play out over your entire life, and how to shift them.
Live, guided imaginal work: We’ll practice the IPF protocol together in real time, moving through each of the five conditions of secure attachment and touching on the stages of self-development.
Guided meditations for independent practice: You’ll have access to several pre-made meditations as well as recordings of our live sessions to help you structure your work on the retreat and beyond.
Live group questions and discussion: After every single meditation we’ll leave space to talk about what’s coming up, to give you clarity and help the work land deeper
A individual check-in with me: Personalized attention to guide your practice and work with any difficulties that may come up.
Access to replays: You’ll have access to everything for a full year after the retreat so you can revisit the material as many times as you need even after it ends.
About Evan Leed
I came to this work the same way as many of you arriving here. I was stuck in patterns I couldn't think my way out of while I watched my friendships fade and romantic connections stall no matter how much I understood about myself.
I found success by working on my patterns at the root and after nearly 125 sessions of IPF with a facilitator, my Adult Attachment Interview was classified in the secure range. That result made me want to bring this work to others.
For the past six years I've worked one-on-one with over 150 clients, and have taught hundreds more in group settings. I trained in the Ideal Parent Figure Protocol directly under the late Dr. Daniel P. Brown, studying with him for nearly two years in his IPF Masterclass. I'm also the first person officially certified by Mettagroup as a facilitator, under the direct mentorship of founder George Haas.
Over and over again I’ve seen people come into a clear, felt experience of secure attachment that goes deeper than being purely conceptual. Once they see through their difficult patterns they can change them and live deeply fulfilling lives.
That's what I'm here to help you do.

Student Testimonials
I experienced a profound sense of safety and validation in Evan’s class—a stark contrast to the walls I had built around myself to avoid being seen or opening up to others. Each week brought transformative moments as we engaged in guided meditations that invited my younger self to heal and integrate with my adult self. With Evan's insightful tips and supportive environment, I could feel a remarkable shift within me; the once-fractured parts of my being began to merge into a more loving, confident version of myself, filled with hope and possibility.”

What’s great about Evan is how much he really trusts his clients. He won’t tell you that he’s one of the longest-standing people in this field — but he is! (He was in the original training/supervision class with Dan Brown.) Evan is the fourth Facilitator I’ve worked with as a client and truly — his knowledge of this modality is vast and extensive, and (in my experience) unparalleled. I learn from him every week — if not about myself as a client, then about how best to support my own clients.
A well-lived life is 100% possible, and secure attachment really paves the way for that. I feel incredibly fortunate to have Evan guiding me along this road! For all of these reasons — and many more even! — I recommend Evan Leed wholeheartedly to anyone interested in doing this work. He’s truly a gem, and you simply could not be in better hands than his. Really really. :)”

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone, whether you’re new to attachment work or already have an IPF practice. If you’re new, this retreat offers a structured, guided way to get a real sense of attachment security so you know firsthand what you’re working toward. If you have a practice, this is an opportunity to help what you’ve been building land more deeply. However, if you’re currently in crisis or working through a lot of unprocessed trauma, this might not be the right moment for this retreat.
-
You don’t need prior experience to get value from this weekend. Everything we will do will be guided: meditations, structure, pacing. You’ll never be left wondering what to do. If you can daydream, you can do this work. Being new can even have an upside - fewer bad habits to unlearn first.
-
In my opinion, individual facilitation is the most effective way of uprooting specific attachment conditioning, and group work isn’t a replacement for doing this kind of deep repair with a facilitator. Think of this as a complement: you’ll spend concentrated time deepening the work that you’re already doing. If you’re not working with a facilitator, this is also a substantive way to gain traction and get real experience. If it resonates I’m happy to talk about what one-on-one work could look like.

There will be a total of nine hours of live sessions over the weekend, plus a private one-on-one meeting with me on Saturday. You’ll also be asked to set aside time - Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday morning, for some practice on your own. I’ll provide details and recordings for you to use then. If you can’t make a live teaching, everything will be recorded and made available for at least a year, so you won’t fall behind.

Tons of people have difficulty visualizing, and that’s fine. Here we’re looking to engage your imagination in whatever way works best for you.
-
Of course it is! I’ll guide you step-by-step through exactly how to structure your time. We’ll be doing plenty of group meetings and guided visualizations, so you won’t be left guessing about what to do or when.
-
While I will ask you to step back from distractions like social media and TV, you’re certainly invited to stay connected to the people around you if that’s what you need. Don’t think of this as deprivation, think of it as a gift of time and focus on your growth.
-
I totally get this. Our live sessions will follow a rhythm of teaching → meditation → discussion → break, so you’ll never be pushed beyond what’s sustainable. You can adjust between-session practice to match your energy level, without needing to force yourself.

I tested in the secure attachment range years ago and I still put time aside every year for exactly this kind of work. There’s always another layer available and this retreat will help you find it.
Retreat Dates and Times
The retreat starts on Friday, August 28th at 6pm Eastern Time and ends on Sunday, August 30th at 2pm Eastern Time.
The group will meet live for teaching, guided meditation, and discussion at the following times:
Friday August 28th from 6pm - 8pm ET (two hours)
Saturday August 29th from 10am - 12pm ET (two hours)
Saturday August 29th from 6pm - 8pm ET (two hours)

Between the live sessions: This weekend continues even outside of these times. Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday morning will ideally be spent practicing on your own. You can meditate, journal, or rest when we’re not together. I’ll provide some guided meditations you’re welcome to use in your free time if you’d like the structure, and on Friday we’ll talk about how to set things up so they work for you.
For this whole weekend I’d encourage you to take time off from social media and other common distractions as much as you can. Don’t think of it as deprivation; think of it as giving yourself the gift of deep, healing work.
All participants will have a fifteen-minute individual check-in with me on Saturday afternoon. Once you register, I’ll reach out to you to schedule. If you’re not going to be available that time, please contact me and I’m sure we’ll find a way to work it out.
We will meet on Zoom.
If you’re not available to attend live for some or part of the retreat, everything will be recorded and made available for one year.
Disclaimer: This retreat is given for informational purposes only. It is not meant to be psychotherapy or a replacement for psychotherapy.
This retreat will also require a reasonable level of stability. If you are currently dealing with intense trauma or looking to work through latent trauma, this may not be the best moment to take this retreat and I recommend looking for other techniques for the time being.
